Strategy Analyst Intern (Evergreen)

Job Summary :

Horizon BCBS seeks a self-directed intern for the Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG). SIG is Horizon’s internal consulting team, helping the company navigate the complex, rapidly-change healthcare environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to strategic priorities for the leading health insurer in New Jersey, with great exposure to the healthcare landscape.

The intern will have a good grasp of financials and a passion for creative problem-solving, collaboration, technology, and learning more about the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct research and create analyses to support the project(s) the intern is assigned to, with guidance from a SIG mentor
• Create PowerPoint slide presentations to share findings
• Communicate findings to the SIG team, and if appropriate, to those outside SIG
• Collaborate with SIG colleagues to develop compelling analyses / presentations

Requirements :

• Entry Level Role
• Requires High School Diploma
• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Ability to conduct analyses in Excel and develop PowerPoint presentations
• Solid understanding of financials and interest in healthcare
• Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Must demonstrate professional and ethical business practices, adherence to company standards, and a commitment to personal and professional development

Location : 3 Penn Plaza Newark NJ Hybrid Work Schedule

Schedule : 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch)

Duration : 11 week Summer Internship Program (June 2, 2025 August 15, 2025)
