Job Description :
As a Nurse Manager, you will oversee a Level III NICU in a recognized medical center in Southern California. The facility has 49 NICU beds with an average census of 30+ and a team of approximately 141 NICU employees.
This role involves managing the NICU department and covering the Pediatric Unit and PICU as needed.
Responsibilities :
- Manage the delivery of nursing services and ensure safe patient care that meets or exceeds quality and clinical standards.
- Establish and maintain patient care and service standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Develop strategic plans for integrated services across the continuum of care.
- Implement systems for continuous improvement of clinical practices and operations.
- Manage departmental budgets, identify cost-saving strategies, and improve the quality of care.
- Determine the appropriate staff mix, hire, train, and develop staff.
- Develop and monitor departmental policies and procedures.
- Resolve human resource and risk management issues.
- Promote a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to standards and guidelines
Basic Qualifications :
- Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, including three (3) years of management / supervisory experience.
- BSN and National Health / Nursing Administration Certification or MSN required for PICU and NICU Departments in CCS certified facilities.
