- Field Service Technician
- Located in Akron
- Up to $28 / hour based on previous experience.
- 1st shift from 6am-230pm, flexibility needed when travelling
- Direct Hire opportunity with the company.
As the Field Service Technician you would be responsible for constructing, rebuilding, and repairing machines and equipment.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and other instructions to complete sub-assembly and / or final assembly of customized machines according to established guidelines and quality standards.
- Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprint.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble units according to required specifications.
- Consult with Engineering for custom product design projects.
- Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
- Aligns components for assembly and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together.
- Identify faulty components during the assembly process, make adjustments, and report them to management.
- Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts.
- Assembles, sets up, and operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
- Mechanically support electricians and programmers as needed.
- Occasionally traveling to customer sites to supervise and assist in installation and / or repair of machine products. Anticipated travel up to 10%.
Skills / Qualifications
- 3 years' experience in machine assembly or similar field.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints to assemble complex machinery.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Mathematical skills.
- Able to lift 25-50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED, required. Technical degree or certification preferred.
- Will be subject to pre-employment screening.
