The Senior Director of First-Year Students will play a pivotal leadership role in this mission, driving strategic initiatives that enhance student transition, engagement, and retention.

Your Impact

The Dean of Graduate Studies and Research serves as a key academic leader responsible for advancing Eastern Washington University’s research enterprise and strengthening graduate education across disciplines.

This inaugural role brings together the leadership of the Office of Grants and Research Development (OGRD) and the Graduate Programs Office, positioning the Dean to align institutional priorities in research, innovation, and graduate student success.

Reporting directly to the Provost, the Dean provides strategic direction for expanding externally funded research, supporting faculty development, enhancing graduate education quality and enrollment, and ensuring compliance and research integrity. The Dean also plays a central role in cultivating partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations in alignment with EWU’s mission as the region’s polytechnic university.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for expanding externally funded research and enhancing graduate education.
• Champion a culture of innovation, integrity, and access in research and graduate studies.
• Align initiatives with EWU’s Strategic and Academic Master Plans.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $135,000- 180,000
