Location : Hybrid | Midland Park, NJ or Goshen, NY
Compensation : $115,000 – $160,000 / year (commensurate with experience)
Job Type : Full-time | W-2 | With Comprehensive Benefits
Hybrid Schedule : 3 days onsite / 2 days remote (after 90-day in-office onboarding)

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior electrical engineering staff
- Plan, design, and coordinate electrical systems for building projects in compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and other codes
- Perform and review electrical calculations, including load calculations, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, and equipment sizing
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and permit applications
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of electrical design work and ensure accuracy of construction documents
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in project meetings, including design reviews and construction coordination
- Support construction administration including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and site visits
- Contribute to proposal development and business development initiatives
- Ensure project budgets, timelines, and scope are maintained
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of electrical engineering experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industryBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringPE license () or EIT with a path toward licensure (NY and NJ)Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience a plusIn-depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI standards, and applicable building codesProven ability to read and interpret construction documentsDemonstrated experience in client-facing rolesPrevious leadership or mentorship of junior engineersProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; load calculation software experienceValid driver's license; willingness to travel locally (Tri-State area) up to 20%Additional Qualifications
10+ years of experience in building electrical system designExperience with electrical power analysis software (e.g., SKM, ETAP)Revit proficiency for MEP systems coordinationPrior experience at a full-service architecture and engineering firmWhy LAN Associates?
