Senior On-Premise Network Engineer.

SoundCloud is looking for a Senior On-Premise Network Engineer to join our Systraf team. As a Senior On-Premise Network Engineer, you will be at our forefront of designing, managing, & maintaining our hybrid network infrastructure.

You'll use your expertise in multi-region network topology, routing, & hybrid cloud architectures to optimize performance & reliability.

Youll collaborate closely with infrastructure & engineering teams across multiple time zones to automate & manage our infrastructure through tools like Terraform, Ansible, Python, & Bash.

Your work will extend to bare-metal servers, switches, routers, & metal-as-a-service systems within our data centers. You will also manage critical services like IP address management (IPAM) for automation & network efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, implement, & maintain multi-region hybrid network infrastructures across on-premise, AWS, & GCP environments, ensuring high availability & efficient performance.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning & configuration management using Terraform, Go, & Bash, enhancing efficiency & consistency across network operations.
• Analyze network topology, routing, & performance metrics to identify bottlenecks & optimization opportunities, implementing solutions to improve overall system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate network solutions across diverse environments, maintaining alignment & consistency with organizational goals.
• Maintain & enhance network services & security in AWS (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Route 53) & on-premise systems, ensuring robust, secure, & scalable connectivity solutions.

Experience & Background :

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, including designing, implementing, & managing hybrid network infrastructures across on-premise, AWS, & GCP environments.
• Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, with emphasis on Terraform, Ansible, Python, & Bash
• Experience with bare-metal servers, switches & routers, metal-as-a-service systems, data center environments, & configuration management frameworks.
• Familiarity with IPAM for automation & effective network management.
• Skilled in Linux systems, managing software load balancers & reverse proxies such as HAProxy or Envoy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team distributed across multiple time zones.
• Preparedness for participation in an on-call rotation schedule.
• Familiar with AWS network services like Virtual Private Cloud, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, WAF / Shield, & CloudFront

The salary range for this role is $135,000 - 165,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, & location.
