Assistant Location Manager Overview

As the Assistant Location Manager, you will assist the Location Manager with directing the delivery and warehouse operations in the assigned location.

This position will help with managing, scheduling, routing, unloading, staging, inventory processes, and assisting with SDS Builder Sites (if applicable).

Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to)

• Consolidates freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations
• Keeps all necessary systems and documents updated with the previous days warehouse operations
• Responsible as the Acting Manager on duty when the Location Manager is absent
• Occasionally oversees accurate and efficient loading of all vehicles for the delivery of retail and SDS home products to the end consumer (last mile)
• Ensures delivery trucks and uniforms meet our E3 standards
• Ensures the warehouse staff achieves all daily shipping and receiving goals
• Actively assists in scheduling, dispatching, will calls, and routing as needed
• Responsible for the warehouse and inventory control processes, ensuring inventorys integrity is maintained
• Ensures pre trip inspections, truck inspections, and tool audits are performed
• Assists with unloading appliances within inbound trailers

Assists with any other duties requested / needed from the Location Manager, such as :

• Accomplishing delivery and quality standards
• Monitoring weekly reports to ensure financial objectives are being met
• Ensuring all operations are compliant with DOT and OSHA requirements
• Coordinating with customer service to ensure that all customers are satisfied
• Conducting ride behinds and evaluations of driver to determine skill levels and development opportunities
• Conducting driver road tests
• Interacts and maintains a positive working relationship with all team members, client, and retail / SDS customer personnel

Requirements

• Higher education and / or equivalent experience, preferably in the transportation industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Effectively communicate in writing and verbally
• Valid Drivers License
• Flexible Schedule Must be able to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
• Handle all needs of the customers
• Integrity in all things
• Able to utilize an appliance dolly to move up to 450 lbs.
