The In-House Therapy Team at Shore Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center , a premier long term skilled nursing facility located in Ocean County, New Jersey is actively looking for a caring, dedicated Certified Occupational therapist Assistant to provide quality care to its residents .

The successful candidate will offer effective and client-centered services that will enable people to confidently and independently carry out everyday tasks and activities.

The successful candidate will have a hands on perspective and approach, be able to adapt the environment and therapies to fit the needs of the patient.

Responsibilities

Follow plan of treatment put in place by Supervising OT

Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)

Teach patients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components

Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use

Guide and educate family members and caregivers

Observe, note, and report on progress of long- and short-term treatment goals

Collect data and document processes followed

Collaborate with Supervising OT on progression of plan of treatment

Requirements :

1 Year working experience as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant preferred, but new grads considered.

Hands-on experience with Net Health (Rehab Optima) preferred

Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools

Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities

Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession

Professional behavior

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Valid NJ license.
