Job Description : As a School-Based Physical Therapist, you'll work directly with students to assess their physical abilities and develop personalized therapy plans to enhance their mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
You'll collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address students' specific challenges and goals.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the educational environment.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute to the development of educational plans.
- Provide support and education to teachers and staff on physical therapy-related topics.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Mississippi state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
