Position Overview : The Development Manager's primary role is to generate financial resources to support the organizations budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Grants :
- Apply for new and renewals grants.
- Research and seek new foundations and corporations.
- Collaborates with the Operations team to go over LOA’s, communicate the terms and needs of each grant, program outcomes, & the reporting requirements.
- Manages and submits all grant reports in accordance with grant requirements.
- Meet or exceed reporting deadlines for all grants.
- Maintain documentation of all grants received & grant reports.
Face-to-Face Solicitation :
- Research and seek new individual donors.
- Ask for contributions and follow up with thank you, additional meetings, etc.
- Maintain relations with current donors through thank you notes, newsletters, phone calls, invites to special events, etc.
- Meet with potential donors to discuss the Club and the individual’s values.
- Attend various community and networking events to represent Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region and develop new prospects.
- Manage and implement direct mail campaign.
- Maintain and pursue cause related marketing campaigns with local companies.
Special Events :
- Acquire sponsors and invite individuals to attend.
- Schedule and plan logistics of the annual Gala & Vic Andrews Golf Scramble.
- Establish pricing and sponsorship levels with President and CEO.
- Follow up after events to include phone calls, Club tours, thank you notes, etc to donors and attendees.
Financial / Forecasting :
- Maintain Vision Supporter Donation System to track all donations and donor information.
- Develop and maintain 30-60-90-day forecasts of projected income weekly.
- Work closely with the Director of Finance to align projected income and expenses.
- Maintain accurate and up to date numbers on all revenue received.
- Create resource development updates for board meetings.
- Create and submit weekly development reports to President and CEO.
- Meet bi-weekly with President and CEO to discuss current and potential revenue.
- Meet with board resource development committee to discuss prospects and action items.
Other :
- Attend all staff meetings.
- Marketing and promotion of childcare program, Kids Club 360.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervision Received :
The Development Manager reports directly to and receives regular supervision from the President & CEO. The Development Manager will work in collaboration with the Senior Development Director.
Supervision Exercised :
The Senior Director of Development does not oversee any other position at this time.
Qualifications :
- Strong work-ethic and a commitment to the mission and growth of the Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- A minimum of two years or more of professional experience in youth development, non-profit management, sales or new business development with an emphasis on fundraising, grant writing, management, budgeting, community and public relations.
- Strong writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Working knowledge and use of donor database software (Vision SDS preferred, etc).
- Knowledge of accounting, business practices and principles as they relate to fundraising.
- Must submit to and pass a background check.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office : Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and capable of becoming proficient in various related software products.

Physical Demands and Work Environment :
- Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, hear, talk, see, use hands, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls.
- This position requires mobility.
- One must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Duties involve moving items weighing up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Usual office working conditions with typical noise level in the work environment.

Benefits :
Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region offers medical, dental, and vision to new employees the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
Our current coverage is with UnitedHealthcare.
The percentage the company contributes is tiered. Up to 3 years of employment the company pays 50% of medical, dental, and vision for the employee, 3-5 years it increases to 75% and after 5 years it increases to 100%.
Spouse and dependent medical, dental, and vision coverage is offered at the full expense of the employee.
The Club also offers life, Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability paid for by BGCPPR at 100% for employees only.
The organization also participates in a defined pension plan. This is a 401A employer contribution only. Normally, eligibility begins after the first year of employment as long as 1,000 hours has been met.
Once eligibility has been met the Club currently pays 5% of your salary annually. In this plan we have a 2 6 year vesting schedule.
Additional benefits include 15 days of paid time off (PTO). This PTO accrues per pay period beginning at 90 days of employment.
We have 10 traditional paid holidays beginning after 90 days of employment.
Summary :
This position requires driving - candidates must have had a valid driver’s license for at least three years. A comprehensive background check is part of our hiring process.

We operate two after school youth development programs and two before & after school child care programs in the Pikes Peak Region, serving approximately 1,400 youth with nationally acclaimed programming.
