Primary Purpose

Ride bus and help driver ensure safe and orderly transportation of students with and without disabilities.

Qualifications

Education / Certification : High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge / Skills

• Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively
• Ability to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment
• Ability to work well with children with disabilities
• Ability to work well and cooperatively with the driver of the bus

Wheelchair lifts, ramps, locks, and special needs adaptive equipment when on Special needs route.

Working Conditions

Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors : Tools / Equipment Used : Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Posture : Prolonged sitting; occasional bending / stooping, pushing / pulling, and twisting; frequent walking, stooping, bending, kneeling Motion : Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching Lifting : Moderate lifting and carrying (25 pounds or less) Environment : May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel. Work outside and inside; work around vehicles and machinery with moving parts; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures (hot) and vehicle fumes.
