The Elevator Consultant will be responsible for leading elevator consulting projects from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and client expectations.
This role requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams, and mentor / develop department staff.
Responsibilities :
Oversee consulting projects from initiation to completion such as : Modernization, New Installation, Due Diligence, and Maintenance / Equipment Evaluations, and more.
Lead and manage the project management team in consulting projects.
Oversee the planning and execution of small, medium and large-scale elevator projects from initiation to completion.
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to reach goals and timely deliverables.
Participate in on-site evaluations, engineering surveys, and online meetings.
Evaluate the current condition of elevator equipment to determine its operational status and provide budget estimates for recommended equipment alterations / replacements.
Conduct final inspections, create punch lists upon substantial project completion, and submit acceptance reports to clients.
Develop detailed specifications covering all aspects of vertical transportation projects.
Review shop drawings and assess any proposed change orders.
Conduct thorough elevator assessments and generate reports for elevator maintenance contractors, pinpointing specific issues or conditions that need attention to enhance overall elevator performance and reliability.
Perform Periodic Inspections and witness Category 1 / 5 inspections of vertical transportation devices that permit 3rd Party inspectors.
Qualifications :
Minimum of (15) fifteen years elevator industry experience as a project manager, and a minimum of (7) seven years' experience of supervisory / management experience.
Proven track record of successfully managing mid to large-scale elevator projects from initiation to completion.
Proficient ability to read elevator shop drawings, specifications, plans, and layouts.
In-depth knowledge of elevator systems and safety standards.
Experience working on government projects in elevator installation and alteration.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on meeting deliverable deadlines.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Valid driver's license and reliable form of transportation.
Supplemental Qualifications :
NYS DOB Inspectors License is a plus.
NYS DOL Inspectors License is a plus.
Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) license a plus.
Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.
Experience with Bluebeam, MicroStation, AutoCAD, are a plus.
OSHA30 Certification is a plus.
Current MTA / LIRR Track Training completion is a plus
