Location : Columbia, Missouri
Shift : THREE 12 HR SHIFTS PER WEEK- DAY SHIFT- 7AM 7 : 30PM with rotating weekend and holiday shifts
Location : MU Health Care- University Hospital, Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, MUPC, and MOI
Department : Various Clusters such as ICU and MED SURG Clusters - clusters determined in interview based on departmental need and applicant experience and updated through years of service
Salary : $47.52 / hr
- $4 / hr night shift differential
- $3 / hr weekend shift differential
- $3 / hr differential when floating to MU PSYCH
- Additional differentials for working more than one cluster
For a limited time, sign-on bonuses will be available to eligible candidates for this position on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Bonuses will be paid after successful candidates complete all pre-employment verifications and start in their new roles.
This position will float amongst several areas within MU HEALTH CARE and is required to float within the various Med Surg and ICU Clusters providing professional nursing care.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs, sets goals, and prescribes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.
Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient's self-report / symptoms of pain promptly. Utilize an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment (0-10 numerical scale, FACES, or the FLACC.)
Demonstrates an understanding of medications with regards to action and side effects. Reports pertinent information to appropriate individual.
Educates patients and significant others about their medications.
Provides quality care to patients and work with multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.
This position requires the ability to float to designated nursing unit clusters and shifts to meet staffing needs throughout MU Health care.
Units / clusters service University Hospital, Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, MUPC and MOI. Clusters are chosen on hire and updated through years of service.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications :
One (1) year of service within MU Health Care.
Additional license / certification requirements as determined by the hiring
department
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation.
The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.
This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
