Unit Information :

The Orthopedic unit is located on the 4th floor of TMC’s tower. It is a 40-bed post-surgical inpatient unit. All of the rooms are private rooms with picturesque views.

The majority of the patients we care for have elected to have their surgery : hip, knee, shoulder, spine, or ankle. The patients admitted to Ortho post surgically are overall healthy, motivated to recover, and progress rapidly.

Elective hips and knees typically discharge next day, and spines stay with our team two to three days. We work collaboratively with our Orthopedic surgeons, hospitalists, case management team, and therapy team to ensure patient safety and satisfaction as well as to enhance the patient experience by placing the patient in the center of our care.

Summary :

The clinical nurse leader is responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of safe and effective patient-centered care.

The Clinical Nurse Leader will facilitate and mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.

In addition, the Clinical Nurse Leader will continuously assess unit needs to ensure adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts by collaborating with other departments, clinical and nonclinical, to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients in a timely manner.

Finally, the Clinical Nurse Leader will demonstrate professionalism at all times and will uphold standards of practice by holding team members accountable for continued compliance.

Requirements :

Education : Graduation from a qualified, nationally-accredited nursing program.

Experience : One (1) year of nursing experience in an acute care setting required. Two (2) years of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Licensure and Certification : Current RN licensure permitting work in the state of Arizona, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Additional certifications may be required per department.
