Environmental Project Manager (remote)

Employment : Direct Hire

Our client is a leading provider of environmental services, offering expertise in environmental planning, permitting, measurement, analytical services, and sustainability solutions.

They are looking for an Environmental Project Manager to oversee multiple projects within the utilities, public lands space on a long term basis.

This role can be remote from anywhere in the west coast region of the US. The desired candidate MUST have CEQA and NEPA experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Project Management : Overseeing multiple projects, managers, staffing, quality control, budgets, and business development.
  • Technical Oversight : Providing technical guidance for projects in specific counties, including proposal preparation, team building, subcontracting, and scheduling.
  • Client Interaction : Maintaining positive relationships with clients and regulatory agencies, overseeing project compliance with environmental policies, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Report Writing and Compliance : Engaging in technical writing, report preparation, mitigation plan development, and ensuring project compliance with environmental regulations like CEQA and NEPA.
  • Field Work and Site Assessments : Managing field teams, conducting specialized site assessments, and utilizing tools like ArcGIS and GPS technologies for large-scale biological inventories.
  • Business Development : Contributing to business development activities, marketing, revenue projections, and incentivizing new clients and contracts.

Qualifications :

  • Education : A Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Experience : At least 6 years of professional experience in environmental roles, with at least 4 years in managerial positions, demonstrating increasing responsibilities.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in all aspects of project management, including proposal preparation, technical writing, client interactions, and fieldwork.
  • Leadership : Proven leadership experience in managing proposal efforts, contracts, and multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on program management and high-quality deliverables.
  • Industry Knowledge : Familiarity with current environmental regulations, such as CEQA and NEPA, and experience with tools like ArcGIS and GPS technologies is preferred.
  • Communication : Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, given the daily interaction with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
