Position Summary

Safe Haven Security is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Analyst to join our team. The Security Analyst will be responsible for safeguarding our organization's computer systems, networks, and data. This role involves monitoring for security breaches, investigating incidents, and implementing protective measures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.

In this role you will :

  • Continuously monitor network traffic, security alerts, and logs for potential security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Analyze and assess potential security risks, incidents, and breaches
  • Utilize security tools and technologies to detect and respond to security incidents
  • Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
  • Coordinate and lead incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts
  • Document and report on security incidents, providing detailed analysis and recommendations
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests
  • Identify and assess security risks, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulations
  • Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption
  • Recommend and deploy security enhancements and best practices
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies
  • Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees
  • Promote a culture of security within the organization
  • Provide guidance and support to IT staff on security best practices

  • To be successful in this role, you should have :

  • Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) tools
  • Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection / prevention systems
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools
  • Knowledge with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of integrity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • What Safe Haven requires in a candidate :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in information security or related roles
  • Must be located in the Kansas City metropolitan area
