INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST (DISCLOSURE)

Plans, develops, implements, and executes multiple foreign disclosure programs designed primarily to protect the national security against multiple threats such as unauthorized disclosure of classified information to foreign governments, unauthorized release of Classified Military Information (CMI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), unauthorized disclosure of CMI to foreign governments or international organizations, and espionage.

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications :

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service :

  • Plan, develop, and implement foreign disclosure programs based on the overall missions of Joint Staff and Department of Defense;
  • Applies Foreign Disclosure, Foreign Visits, Training, and Awareness to address matters of concern to the Joint Staff and Combatant Commands;
  • Utilizes foreign disclosure program interrelationships to lead or participate as a technical expert in groups for resolving problems in existing foreign disclosure programs requiring innovative decisions within the Department of Defense;
  • Applies foreign disclosure concepts, principles and practices to advise Joint Staff, OSD, and National Level officials and subject matter managers on new foreign disclosure developments and advances in information security techniques

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.

g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
