This position is responsible forleading the business development activities within STA, WuXi's CMCsmall molecule development and manufacturing division.
The positionworks closely with STA's other BD team members and seniormanagement team in China to develop and execute the most effectivestrategy to increase small molecule drug product, API andintermediate sales across US based key accounts both biotech andlarge pharma.
This position manages sites for keyaccounts and is also responsible for business development for anynew accounts. This position works proactively with other BU teammembers, such as other BD team members, Marketing, ProjectManagement, Technical Groups and Operations to assure objectivesand goals are achieved.
- Develop plans and programs for existingaccounts in his / her geography to gain market share in existingbusinesses, cross sell process development and manufacturingservices and increase site penetration of all keyaccounts.
- Develop strategies and tactics togain new business from existingcollaborations
- Achieve PO targets for keyaccounts.
- Record progress of BD activities andprovide regular updates to management.
- Workclosely with all WuXi business units, project management teams andmarketing to ensure coordination of efforts and ensure goodcommunication with all parties.
- Help set up BUvisits, attend trade shows and stay involved when customers visitChina.
- Collects and utilizes various datasources to provide competitive intelligence, tracking and analysisof the competitive landscape in assignedlocations.
- Min. of 10years of relevant industry experience in chemical or pharmaceuticaldevelopment and / or manufacturing. Experience in or managing CRO,CMO or CDMOs.
- 5+ years of technical, sales, projectmanagement and / or business development experience. Must have aproven track record of success meeting or exceeded goals / targets.
Experience successfully navigating large matrix organizations.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise in thearea(s) of small molecule process development, pre-formluationdevelopability assessment, formulation development, and clinicalsupplies with a working knowledge of drug development from IND toNDA.
- Experience selling products / services thattypically require longer sales cycles (9 - 24 months). Strongknowledge of selling skills and selling strategies.
Proven abilityto meet or exceed company annual sales goals.
Must bea self starter, self-motivated, highly flexible, with excellentcommunications skills (verbal, written, and presentation skills).
Must be organized and detailed-oriented.
- Provenexperience in creating successful business development plans andprocesses. Marketing experience preferred but not required.
- Previous team leader or managerial position with directreports a plus
- Excellent communication skills both inverbal and in writing. Familiar with Salesforce and proficient withMS Office Products to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Project andExcel are required.
- BA / BS in Life Science (preferablyin Chemistry related field), Business, Marketing or relatedTechnical degree, or equivalent training and / or experience.
- Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters (MS) inLife Sciences a plus, but not required
