American National seeks a Manager of Business Analysis to oversee a team of analysts, provide support, remove project roadblocks, influence stakeholders, and advocate for innovation.
Please note this is an in-office role in Albany, New York; Springfield, Missouri or Houston, Texas.
What Will You Do?
- Elevate team members performance and seek ongoing opportunity to improve all aspects of the business analysis
- Develop, train, and proactively drive the adoption of tools and processes within the underwriting business analyst team
- Provide regular performance feedback to the team; 1 : 1s, monthly QC’s, quarterly development plan check-ins, annual performance evaluations, striving for continued improvement, efficiencies, and growth
- Effectively collaborates with Underwriting and multiple business areas, ensuring we are striving for consistent practices across Personal Lines and Commercial Lines, and supporting an inclusive and diverse team of business analyst
- Ensure underwriting systems and processes are periodically reviewed for accuracy, best practice, and efficiency
- Confirm system changes and projects produce expected results and are aligned with strategic objectives and priority
- Effectively communicate priorities, project status, updates and production problems to the department and leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Five or more years of industry or business analyst work experience
- Supervisory / Management experience preferred
- Innate ability to creatively approach situations with innovative thinking
- Possess knowledge of the P&C underwriting processes, systems, and products a plus
- Strong technical aptitude, proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Must be highly organized, self-driven, results-oriented, visionary thinker with a clear focus on quality
- Must be adaptable and comfortable with ongoing variety in daily responsibilities
- Duck Creek system familiarity, Agile methodology and Scrum practices a plus
Salary for this position can range from $93,000 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $117,000 for more highly qualified candidates.
Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
