Purpose and Scope : As a Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT), you'll play a vital role in our healthcare team, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Your responsibilities will include setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and contributing to our organization's Quality Enhancement Program (QEP).
Key Responsibilities :
Patient Care :
- Assist with patient education regarding dialysis procedures and disease management.
- Perform pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight checks.
- Initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Document patient information accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to address patient needs.
Technical Skills :
- Operate hemodialysis machines proficiently.
- Perform vascular access cannulation and heparin administration.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment.
Teamwork :
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in training and development programs.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications :
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current dialysis patient care technician certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in dialysis patient care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
