About the job :

The Clinical Educator provides consultation and education to patients, families, staff and physicians regarding the care of patients, assumes a leadership role in issues relating to patient care and acts as a change agent to support institutional initiatives pertaining to the care of patients.

What you will do :

  • Serves as a role model in the management of select patient populations through direct or indirect care; Acts as a leader in monitoring, evaluating and helping to establish the standard of practice.
  • Assesses the learning needs of colleagues within patient care settings in order to plan, organize, coordinate and participate in development and / or teaching of programs to meet those identified needs.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises standards of care, policies, procedures, practice guidelines, classes, and protocols of care to reflect current evidence based practice and changing technology
  • Promotes, participates in, or conducts on-going research in clinical practice.
  • Develops patient education materials that are easy-to-read / understand and culturally sensitive to ensure clinicians have the resources essential to support the educational need of the patient, family and community.
  • Utilizes all available platforms including written, electronic and web based services to provide education and promote learning including collaboration with other organizations on language access services to encompass diverse patient populations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for :

  • Education : Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; or currently enrolled in a Master's degree in Nursing program with anticipated achievement within 2-3 years.
  • Licensure / Certification : Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio; Professional certification(s) preferred;

BLS Healthcare Provider training required.

  • Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years recent experience in area of specialization preferred.
  • Demonstrates leadership and teaching experience.
