This role will lead content marketing efforts for the firm bringing experience in storytelling, leveraging digital assets and integrating visual strategies.

To be successful in this role, the seasoned writer and strategist will need to have a background in financial services, editorial skills, working knowledge of the various mediums used to distribute content and be capable of crafting engaging and tailored content that is relevant to our clients.

The role will be responsible for setting and executing our overall content marketing strategy across the firm, with a goal of maintaining, attracting, and engaging targeted and broad audiences.

This individual will craft industry-specific and client focused content, optimize our marketing channels while sustaining brand consistency.

This person will also maintain KPIs, data, metrics, analytics and meaningful ways to measure results. They will build a team of writers who are focused on collateral, thought leadership content, website copy, articles, video scripts, presentation, social media posts and additional content.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to :

  • Strong management, project management oversight and communication skills
  • Bring creative energy, knowledge of industry "best practices", have an ear for appropriate tone and an eye for visual story telling
  • Apply editing, and writing skills to conceive, develop, and create thought leadership in multiple formats including; web, social media, video, client newsletters and marketing material
  • Ability to stand back and assess which are the best tool or medium to communicate a message to a targeted audience
  • Must be familiar with long form and short form writing, how to best leverage social media, crafting messages for video, engaging in developing digital thought leadership and overseeing the firm's client newsletter
  • Map out a content strategy that celebrates the firm's brand, supports and extends marketing initiatives while determining which methods work best across all business lines, continuous evolvement of strategy is a must
  • Develop a functional content calendar throughout the enterprise verticals, and defining the owners in each vertical to particular persona groups
  • Knowledge of how to manage writers, editors, content strategists; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style
  • Conduct periodic competitive audits
  • Supervise the maintenance of content inventories and matrices
  • Ensure consistent global experience and implement appropriate localization / translation strategies
  • Ensure that the content being created is helping to drive the firm's business goals
  • Establish and enforce editorial standards
  • Create efficient content creation processes
  • Create a distribution strategy
  • Have creative vision, collaboration skills, the ability to understand and work with stakeholders, and the ability to see the big picture for this role
  • Capture metrics to measure the effectiveness of the firm's content and retool approaches based on the results
  • Additional responsibilities as requested

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a matrix environment with ability to navigate different constituents and leverage different tools
  • Strong written, graphic and verbal communications skills in multiple media
  • Ability to adjust tone and message for specific audiences and diverse formats
  • Experience writing and editing documents with a range of complexity from social media posts to though leadership pieces and brochures
  • Problem solver who can juggle a lot of different tasks at one time
  • A leader, planner and strategic thinker
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to edit, proofread and achieve quality standards
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence others across multiple functions
  • Incredible people skills
  • Fluency in web analytics tools and leading social media monitoring platforms
  • A willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies on the fly
  • Licenses preferred : Series 7, 24
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or related field required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience in content strategy development and delivery, including familiarity with financial markets
  • 5+ years of financial content writing preferred
