Position Summary : The Maintenance Specialist is part of a dynamic maintenance team that provides service to commercial, multi-family, and single-family buildings located in the Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
Job duties require a skilled technician with construction experience to make minor to intermediate level repairs on our various buildings.
Essential Functions :
- Unit Turnovers :
- Assists with move-ins, move-outs and routine inspections
- Prepare vacant units for re-occupancy
- Painting specialist : Prepare surfaces for painting, apply paints, stains and other finishes, perform drywall patches and repairs.
- Building Repairs and Maintenance :
- Perform carpentry work on doors, windows, fences, roofs, etc.
- Repair and replace flooring.
- Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs related to appliances, fixtures, switches, and circuits.
- Assist with plumbing repairs to water and sewage systems.
- Facility Support and Asset Management :
- Assist with the relocation of furniture.
- Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of common areas and workspace.
- Documentation of all maintenance activities.
Position Qualifications :
- Licenses and Certifications :
- Valid California driver’s license and proof of personal auto insurance.
- Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to safely use ladders and tools.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills resulting in positive customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Commitment to the mission of LifeMoves.
Education and Work Experience :
- 3-5 years of maintenance and / or construction experience.
- Proven experience as a painter, preferably in residential or property management settings.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college is a plus.
Physical Activity Requirements :
- Lifting : Medical clearance to lift 75 pounds, including lifting 10 pounds overhead.
- Movement : Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently.
