Position Overview :
KODA Technologies is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to support missile hardware engineering on multiple components in the Propulsion and Structures Division of the THAAD Missile Product Office.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Integrate into a cross-functional team and support the focal point for THAAD Missile hardware development, integration, test, production, and sustainment.
- Provide technical expertise on some portion of appropriate missile components including thrust vector actuator, boost motor, shroud, kill vehicle midbody, divert and attitude control system (DACS), and ordnance systems.
- Interface with senior engineers in the technical review of emerging THAAD Missile design updates in support of both obsolescence and / or performance driven upgrades as required.
- Provide technical expertise and team guidance related to technologies utilized in missile hardware components.
- Assist the team by reviewing test plans, requirements, and evaluation of component / interceptor performance related to updates and design changes.
- Plan, define, evaluate, and monitor contract tasks involving THAAD Missile design, development, evaluation, test, and production.
What Required Skills You'll Bring :
- Active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM program and 3+ years of engineering experience with portions of design, development, testing, manufacturing, or sustainment of mechanical or electrical systems.
- Understanding and application of sound engineering principles related to component design, interoperability, failure investigation, and risk mitigation.
- Experience working in a high intensity environment with minimal supervision.
- Travel as required to other locations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to include creation and presentation of briefing materials.
- Strong computer skills - working knowledge of MS office suite of tools.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Technical knowledge and experience with mechanical or electrical systems, including components listed above.
- Knowledge of structural or propulsion operations, mechanical integration, thermal requirements and analysis.
- Detailed design and manufacturing experience with high reliability missile components qualified to demanding environments.
- Experience applying engineering and DOD acquisition process, policies, procedures, and practices, including entrance and exit criteria evaluation prior to formal design reviews.
- Leadership skills for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling engineering teams tasked with the design, development, testing, manufacturing, and sustainment of missile components within a complex system.
