Responsibilities

  • S upport students in their 5th and 6th year to ensure graduation to meet 6-year 90% graduation goal. Provide holistic guidance in navigating university policies and procedures relevant to degree completion.
  • A dminister leavers campaign to return UT for Me students to campus and complete their degree. Manage outgoing and incoming messaging regarding the readmission process.
  • M eet with students 1-1 online or in-person to assist with the readmission process, including readmission application and advising / registration support.
  • M aintain all reporting data regarding UT for Me leavers : collaborate with the student success programs leavers team on any special projects or research.
  • A ssist first-time in college students from orientation through graduation and aid them in reducing persistence challenges.

Interpret and analyze student's individual experience to formulate plan of action to accomplish goals.

  • M anage a caseload of students through regular contact in person, via email, text, and other forms of communication.
  • P rovide individualized and organizational programming to promote retention and timely graduation; utilize holistic advising practices and key on- and off-campus resources to address both academic and non-academic concerns.
  • C ommunicate with on-campus student success programs and all undergraduate colleges and schools (CSUs) about UT for Me generally, as well as regarding individual student situations.
  • U tilize various case management tools and data sources to manage large caseload, including GradSnapp, Advisors Toolkit, and multiple dashboards and databases.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Three years experience coordinating or administering a program working with college students or high school students in a college readiness capacity, orientation, counseling, advising, retention, student life, residence life, service learning, financial aid counseling, or closely related field.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Capability to use technology on a daily basis. Knowledge of student development, campus ecology, community development, and student learning theories and their applications in practice.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Higher Education administration or related field. Experience with UT Austin academic advising, student success programming or other intensive student-facing support programs.

Bilingual in English and Spanish. Excellent planning, evaluation and assessment, time management, marketing, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to think strategically and interact tactically with student populations in an effective and empowering manner.

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility :

Retirement Plan Eligibility :

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
