Project Coordinator

Job Summary

Performs organizational and supportive duties pertaining to the operation of the Foster Grandparent Program. The position is 20 hours per week, M-F days, with a flexible schedule

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain FGP participant files, by requesting needed information (i.e. annual physical
• examinations, income information, etc.)
• Maintain paperwork for FGP grant outcomes tracking. Inputs and analyzes data as needed.
• Maintain records for FGP sites, including time sheets and appropriate documentation for
• compliance.
• Assist in trainings including orientations, educational / in-service programs and special events.
• Prepare and coordinate materials for trainings and meetings.
• Work in conjunction with Manager on payroll.
• Assist with correspondence, send fax / email requests and produce copies as needed.
• Assist in the recruitment of new Foster Grandparents.
• Answer telephone and take messages for Manager.
• Maintain office and closet supplies of FGP items. Keeps updated listing of items and
• Completes requisitions and reports to Manager as needed.
• Collect and delivers Department mail.
• Send birthday greetings and other appropriate occasion cards to all Foster Grandparents.
• Create monthly newsletter for Foster Grandparents and sites.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Prefer knowledge of non-profit social service agencies with a focus on services to seniors. Any combination of education and experience that has prepared the candidate to successfully master the responsibilities of the Project Coordinator as outlined above.

SKILLS & ATTITUDES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN JOB

Organized, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously, good communication skills and phone manners, excellent computer skills and flexibility.

It is important for this individual to be empathetic to the needs of seniors.

This position is paid by FGP grant monies. This grant is from the Corporation for National and Community Service. This position tracks approximately 80 Foster Grandparents.
