Marketing Coordinator
JAMNOLA is looking for a part-time Marketing Coordinator to assist the remote VP of Marketing & Communications by serving as their on-the-ground presence in New Orleans.
This role involves collaborating with the Marigny-based team on various marketing initiatives to support the launch of JAMNOLA 2.0 and beyond.
Key Responsibilities :
Meeting Coordination : Schedule, create agendas, take notes and follow up on action items for weekly Marketing and Team meetings.
Content Creation : Work with the social media team in creating engaging content for social media, email campaigns, website and other marketing collateral (photoshoots, filming and on-ground content production.)
Marketing tools development :
Lead development of JAMNOLA 2.0 marketing projects including new Scavenger Hunt App, VIP experience, collateral development and updates (digital and print), Cultural takeaways
Email Marketing : Assist in the ideation and execution of seasonal activations. Create and launch bi-monthly email campaigns via Mailchimp to engage and delight existing customers in our database.
Keep mailing list current by uploading new contacts regularly and archiving unengaged / bounced contacts.
Engage with Facebook, IG, X & TikTok Communities :
Actively respond to comments / messages, collaborate with influencers and like / comment on posts in order to create engagement and build followers
Local promotional programs : Identify and manage relationships with local individuals, social media influencers and organizations to support key initiatives intended to create brand awareness, foster cross-promotional opportunities and give-aways .
Design : Act as liaison with agency to create graphic visual design for Social Media, Marketing materials and Collateral as needed
Contribute to development and execution of all marketing, social media and PR initiatives
Successful candidates are creative, good communicators (written and verbal), resourceful and self-motivated team players who are organized, professional, can work against deadlines and pay close attention to detail.
They should also be very tapped into the community / local events and happenings to be able to create campaigns and promotions that drive awareness as well as new and return guests.
Requirements :
$21 / hour M-F up to 30 hours a week.
- In office position, not remote
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Understanding and experienced in marketing principles resulting in branding building, driving traffic and revenue
- 3+ years of sales & marketing experience working in attraction, entertainment or hospitality related industry
- Technically proficient in Google Suite, Mailchimp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Microsoft Office products and Canva or Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop, Indesign a plus
- Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and research proficiencies
Prior experience in graphic design and marketing production
- Someone who takes initiative and makes things happen
- Ability to work in diverse communities with people from various backgrounds
- Must have a flexible schedule
- Strong desire to work as part of a fun, creative and entrepreneurial team in a fast-paced, unique environment
- Excellent meeting, facilitation, and project management skills, including clear and concise verbal and written communications
- Adept interpersonal skills, focusing on building relationships and resolving conflict
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
About JAMNOLA :
JAMNOLA is New Orleans’ first experiential pop-up that takes audiences of all ages on a topsy-turvy stroll through the cultural gems that make the city so special.
The immersive 12 room exhibit is 5,400 square feet of pure NOLA joy, celebrating the iconic art, music, food and theatrics of the city, through the eyes of 20 local artists.
This love letter to New Orleans was co-founded by Bywater residents Jonny Liss and Chad Smith in creative partnership with Collin Ferguson and Catherine Todd of Where Y’Art.
Local music legend George Porter, Jr. curated the exhibition’s music, while charity partners, Trombone Shorty Foundation, and Feed the Second Line will be their philanthropy giving focus for the first year.
