This is a hands-on role for a manager prepared to support individuals and teams solving complex distributed problems and enhancing our portfolio of streaming products.
You will partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to facilitate the design and implementation of new, engaging features for our users.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned manager with a deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle, experience supporting teams of engineers as they evolve in their careers, and a background in media delivery via highly scalable distributed systems.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- 6+ years of experience actively crafting software solutions
- 3+ years of experience leading one or more teams of 5-10 software engineers
- Recruiting, performance management, and talent development
- Implementing CI / CD, automated testing suites, and SRE best-practices
- Continuous improvement through quantitative measurement and qualitative feedback
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the following technical areas :
- Designing and implementing high availability distributed systems
- Cloud service (GCP, AWS, etc.) and API architecture
- Observability and application performance monitoring
- Working knowledge of OTT technologies / specifications and streaming / broadcast media codecs, containers and standards
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage a team of software engineers in a fast paced and agile environment
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Leadership to develop engineering roadmaps
- Support and empower engineers as they transform requirements into actionable development plans
- Adopt modern platforms and manage resources to optimize value
- Champion Agile processes
- Work cross functionally to align on business critical initiatives, sequencing, and delivery
- Contribute to our inclusive culture to ensure team satisfaction and engagement
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000.
