Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Media Services

This is a hands-on role for a manager prepared to support individuals and teams solving complex distributed problems and enhancing our portfolio of streaming products.

You will partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to facilitate the design and implementation of new, engaging features for our users.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned manager with a deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle, experience supporting teams of engineers as they evolve in their careers, and a background in media delivery via highly scalable distributed systems.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• 6+ years of experience actively crafting software solutions
• 3+ years of experience leading one or more teams of 5-10 software engineers
• Recruiting, performance management, and talent development
• Implementing CI / CD, automated testing suites, and SRE best-practices
• Continuous improvement through quantitative measurement and qualitative feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the following technical areas :
• Designing and implementing high availability distributed systems
• Cloud service (GCP, AWS, etc.) and API architecture
• Observability and application performance monitoring
• Working knowledge of OTT technologies / specifications and streaming / broadcast media codecs, containers and standards

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage a team of software engineers in a fast paced and agile environment
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Leadership to develop engineering roadmaps
• Support and empower engineers as they transform requirements into actionable development plans
• Adopt modern platforms and manage resources to optimize value
• Champion Agile processes
• Work cross functionally to align on business critical initiatives, sequencing, and delivery
• Contribute to our inclusive culture to ensure team satisfaction and engagement

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000.
