Position Purpose : Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. As a Router, you will play a vital role in the creation of cost-effective routes to meet customer demands.
Primary Responsibilities :
Creates efficient, cost-effective routes to meet customer demands using
Maintains proper balance between route distance and load size to accommodate drivers’ capabilities and distribution center productivity standard
Matches available vehicles with load and distance requirements
Allocates equipment and driver resources for scheduled and unscheduled deliveries a / o pick-ups and backhauls.
Participates in vacation routing arrangements and driver schedules
Ensures compliance with federal, state (provincial), and local regulations relative to driver distances and load capacities.
Communicates load requisites, routes, and schedules with warehouse production staff to facilitate the order selection process.
Assist Trans Manager with equipment maintenance and Backhaul planning.
Other Duties and Responsibilities : Conducted on an as needed basis
Comply with H&S policies and procedures

Required Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent
6+ months in a warehouse environment
Administrative support performing math and computer data entry skills
Pass a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent
1+ years in a warehouse environment and interfacing with customers within the food service industry
