BREASTFEEDING PEER COUNSELOR/WIC NUTRITION ASSISTANT
The Lundquist Institute is looking for a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor I / WIC Nutrition Assistant to join our team.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Minimum of 2 year experience working as a Nutrition Assistant I in the WIC program or equivalent.
- Certified WIC Nutrition Assistant.
- Personal breastfeeding / chestfeeding experience of 6 months exclusive breastfeeding / chestfeeding.
Description of Duties :
- Provides nutrition education and breastfeeding / chestfeeding services and support to expectant and new mothers enrolled in the Lundquist WIC Breastfeeding Program and their family members via video conferencing, in-person, and telephone contacts.
- Utilizes the Peer Counselor (PC) database to document individual education and breastfeeding / chestfeeding contacts with participants enrolled in the Lundquist WIC Breastfeeding Program.
- Manages a articipant caseload and documents the interactions electronically in the PC database and the WIC Information System Exchange (WIC WISE) database.
- Certifies WIC applicants and participants, and conducts WIC WISE follow up contacts according to prescribed program regulations and procedures.
Position requires a background check and health clearance.
