Adora Childcare is looking for an experienced, motivated, and effective individual with a passion for working with both children and families to join our team.
The ideal candidate must be self-driven, a team player, punctual, flexible, energetic, and possess strong leadership skills.
The ideal candidate should also have a friendly demeanor, have a love for children and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and teachers.
The candidate will lead and oversee a team of teachers and support staff to accomplish administrative, educational, operational, financial, and logistical functions in accordance with state licensing regulations and Adora operating policies.
This position requires the candidate to exercise judgement and decision making as delegated by the Executive Director.
The Center Director must be knowledgeable in State of South Carolina Licensing requirements and be able to keep themselves and all staff accountable to all regulations outlined by the DSS, DHEC, and Fire Marshall (county and state).
This position must also represent the center in a way that coincides with the positive reputation that Adora Early Learning Academy has established in the community.
Responsibilities :
- Create a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere in both the classroom and facility.
- Perform administrative duties, including but not limited to financial responsibilities (accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost control), enrollment and tours, generating daily schedules to maintain class ratios, maintaining staff / child files, state licensing maintenance, and regulation / policy compliance.
- Effectively communicate and build relationships with families and staff members on a regular basis to provide exceptional customer service.
- Listen to families’ or staff members’ requests or concerns to address and resolve them in a prompt manner.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff.
- Assist teachers with development and execution of curriculum and activities that contribute to the growth, education, and development of children in our care.
- Market the program in the community and reach out to prospective families.
- Multitask and prioritize multiple tasks to effectively manage time.
- Communicate with children on their level (stoop, bend, stand for long periods).
- Function in the classroom or any capacity needed within the childcare facility.
- Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Lesson plans should meet guidelines set forth by Adora Childcare and meet the South Carolina Early Education Standards.
- Create an environment in the classroom that promotes play-based learning and self-exploration.
- Meet the children’s basic needs in a prompt manner. This includes but is not limited to feeding, diapering, cleaning, assisting with restroom and any other needs that may arise.
- Ensure the safety of the children in our care.
- Clean, sanitize and organize classroom or other locations in the facility on a daily routine basis or when prompted.
- Computer proficient including Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Assist the center director in any task delegated by themselves or upper management.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
- Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Management or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
- Ability to lead and manage effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision at all times.
- Ability to take direction and criticism.
- Must have knowledge of technology and computer skills.
- Ability to communicate with adults and children.
- Ability to adapt to the various learning styles of adult learners.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- CPR & First Aid - Preferred.
- Willingness to transition between classroom and office environment.
