Description : CRITICAL FUNCTIONS :

CRITICAL FUNCTIONS :

Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials;

conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

• Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment;
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, workforce utilization, and equipment layout.
• Participates in efforts to design custom equipment to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Assures product and process quality by working with the Quality department to establish testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities;

establishing standards

• Functions as a liaison and facilitator to maintain effective communication between Engineering, Quality, and Operations departments, and provide solutions to each.
• Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules;

estimating future requirements.

• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains product and company reputation by ensuring company processes comply with government safety and environmental regulations.
• Completes design and development projects by training and guiding other engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and industry trade shows; reviewing publications;

participating in professional societies.

Requirements :

• 5 to 7 years’ experience in a similar role implementing lean principles and conducting process improvement events.
• Must have experience with modern manufacturing methods including CNC turning and milling, laser cutting, sheetmetal / forming, welding, 3D printing.
• Must have experience and desire to work on the shop floor of a metal fabrication business with minimal office time.
• Experience with programming CNC equipment, robotics, and automation are desirable but not required.
• Demonstrate experience revising manufacturing processes / equipment to solve production and / or quality constraints.
• Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, able to analyze considerable and complex data to drive decisions.
• Proficient with SolidWorks CAD systems, as well as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excels in a highly dynamic organization, experiencing high growth rates and change. Accustomed to tight deadlines and the need for quick solutions.
• Change Agent skilled with enabling change, strong influencing abilities particularly with stakeholders and frontline teams.
• Exceptional interpersonal / written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management.
• Team player able to work well across business operations and develop strong business teams.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with limited direction.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
