Senior Software Engineer, Ecosystem - Provider Directory

The Platform Services division within athenahealth is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining core foundational components leveraged by development teams to successfully build their products.

The Team : As a pivotal member of the Provider Directory team, you will work on building real time, scalable, searchable, cloud-based solutions to surface key provider and organization information to our high-volume consumers.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a passion to :

Design, and develop code on an agile team of Engineers, a Scrum Master, a Product Owner, and Experience Designer.

Collaborate, and advise team members to promote productivity and effectiveness; share business and technical insights with the broader engineering sub-division.

Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert. Take ownership of what the team builds and coordinate efforts across the teams to ensure proper completion.

Typical Qualifications

4-6+ years of experience with significant software engineering skills and computer science experience.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Experience working in an Agile environment at an enterprise level.

Proficient in developing software adhering to Systems Design and Architecture Patterns for microservices and distributed systems.

Hands-on experience in Java based technologies.

Experience with NodeJS / Typescript, working in cloud environments - ideally AWS, is preferred.

Prior experience with a queuing framework (Such as Kafka or RabbitMQ) Spring Boot, Docker, Kafka, Terraform, Elasticsearch and React is helpful.

Prior experience in working with large data sets and knowledge of data science best practices is a plus.
