JOB SUMMARY
This position is a member of the Mainframe Sub-Systems Support team and will primarily be accountable for ensuring a highly available Db2 environment.
This results-oriented job requires solid mainframe systems programming skills to support the DB2 V12 systems.
This job takes a lead role in more complex plans to research, evaluate, design and develop IT Infrastructure systems by applying engineering, hardware and software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure in line with organizational strategies.
Takes a lead role in more complex design, development, and implementation of IT Infrastructure components such as operating systems, software tools, and utilities.
Takes a lead role in conducting more complex studies of IT Infrastructure performance and traffic analysis. Takes a lead role in determining more complex systems design requirements and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
Takes a lead role in generating more complex IT Infrastructure engineering policies, standards and procedures. May mentor less experienced team members.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide stable and secure DB2 V12 support
Product installation and maintenance (SMP / E)
Performance analysis, tuning and customization
Understanding of all DB2 related Program Products (Third Party Vendor Products)
Working with DB2 Logging and System Recover / Disaster Recovery
Strong problem resolution skills
Research and assess new technology for potential deployment
Conduct change inspections; determine associated risks and readiness for implementation
Work schedule flexibility
EDUCATION
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE
Required
3-5 years of experience in Information Technology
Preferred
15 plus years experience with IBM z / Series mainframe
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a z / Series Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer
Knowledge of DB2 Data Sharing
Must have prior experience in supporting IBM z / Series Mainframes configured in a parallel sysplex environment
RACF experience
Knowledge of JCL, IBM Utilities, Omegamon, MQ and CICS
Able to work off-hours and weekends as scheduled, 24x7x365 on-call responsibilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly
Pay Range Minimum : $67,500.00
$67,500.00
Pay Range Maximum : $124,800.00
