As a Business Development Manager, you spend your day coordinating and actively pursuing the retention, expansion, and relocations of business and industry. Your work typically involves providing professional technical assistance, coordinating and developing workforce-training programs, analyzing and developing statistical analysis, maintaining inventory of real estate / assets, and organizing stakeholder relation projects. Your job is essential to the city, and you provide administrative assistance and customer service to prospective business partners. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include assisting in negotiations on business partnerships or development agreements for commercial and industrial business development in the City, which may include businesses development incentives; monitors agreements for compliance with state, local and / or federal regulations. You represent EEDC in various recruitment activities including attending trade shows, mission trips, and conferences related to businesses recruitment, retention or development. You also assist in activities; events, prepare solicitation letters to local and national business, including retailers; prepare information packets for distribution to perspective business clients; and prepare proposals for specific business targeted for location to the City of Edinburg. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in Customer Service, Public Relations, and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!

Qualifications for a Business Development Manager :

• Bachelor's degree.
• Requires three (3) years with experience in economic development or a closely related field.
• Supervisory Experience Preference : A minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
• Bilingual English / Spanish required.
