About The Position

- 3 months training or experience in industrial safety practices License : Not specified Certifications : Not specified Must-Have : - Formal education in arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, ruler reading, and percentages Job Description : Perform all activities associated with fabrication, production, and distribution of highway signs- Utilize a computer and perform reclamation activities, reflective sheeting application, assembly and fabrication of all extruded signs- Conduct all silk screen activities, layout activities, and silk screen fabrication- Read blueprints;
- sort, stack, load, and unload materials- Lift and transport sign blanks and other materials; pack and distribute signs- Store completed signs and materials in accordance with departmental standards- Operate forklift and various equipment used in the sign production process such as shear machines, punch press, and squeeze roll applicators- Utilize safety equipment like respirators, masks, and gloves following established safety practices- Maintain quality control in all processes- Establish order and priority of sign orders;
produce special projects like banners and decals- Maintain inventory control of materials used in sign production- Sweep, clean, and maintain the shop area Major Worker Characteristics : Knowledge of industrial safety practices associated with sign fabrication and production- Understanding of mathematics, including fractions, decimals, and percentages- Skill in the silk screen printing process and sheet metal work- Competence in operating silk screen equipment, shearing punch press, plate press, radius machines, drills, rivet guns, vacuum, and squeeze roll applications- Ability to apply principles to solve practical, everyday problems- Capable of reading and understanding blueprints- Demonstrate dexterity to use hands skillfully- Maintain accurate records
