Job Summary :

As a Warehouse Associate at Walmart, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of the distribution center or warehouse.

Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping merchandise to Walmart stores or directly to customers.

You will work as part of a team to ensure that inventory is managed effectively, orders are fulfilled accurately, and safety standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Receiving and Unloading :

  • Receive incoming shipments of merchandise, verifying quantities and inspecting for damages.
  • Unload trucks using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
  • Record received goods in the inventory management system and distribute to appropriate storage locations.

2. Inventory Management :

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
  • Organize and store merchandise in designated locations within the warehouse, following safety and space utilization guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to warehouse supervisors.

3. Order Picking and Packing :

  • Pick items from shelves or storage bins according to pick tickets or electronic orders.
  • Pack and prepare merchandise for shipping, ensuring that orders are complete and properly packaged.
  • Label packages with shipping information and apply appropriate shipping labels.

4. Shipping and Loading :

  • Prepare shipments for outgoing delivery to Walmart stores or customers, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Load merchandise onto trucks or shipping containers using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Coordinate with logistics personnel to schedule pickups and deliveries as needed.

5. Safety and Compliance :

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse.
  • Operate equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding workplace safety, security, and regulatory compliance.

6. Team Collaboration :

  • Work collaboratively with warehouse team members, supervisors, and managers to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate tasks, resolve issues, and ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or related field is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks is desirable.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling merchandise and inventory.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and maneuver bulky items using appropriate equipment.
  • Physical agility to bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders or scaffolding as needed.

Working Conditions :

  • Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Use of warehouse equipment and machinery, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Interaction with team members, supervisors, and delivery personnel throughout the shift.
