Schedule : Full Time
Shift : Monday-Friday, 8am 5pm, flexible schedule
The community youll be caring for : Clermont and the surrounding areas
The role youll contribute :
Carries out various occupational therapy procedures under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
The value youll bring to the team :
Administers treatments as discussed in the plan of care involving application of physical agents, and manual techniques to improve and maintain function.
Instructs, motivates, and assists the patient to perform various functional physical activities, activities in daily living, self- care activities, and exercises.
- Measures and monitors effects of treatment at various stages and confers with occupational therapist to adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit and outcome.
- Assures that patient treatment outcome is directed towards development and restoration of functional skills and returning to or maintaining maximum potential.
- Recommends and teaches the use of assistive devices and equipment to patients and families.
- Instructs nurses, Home Health Aides, and family members to provide for continuous Occupational Therapy program.
- Observes records and reports on patient progress, reaction to treatment and any changes in patients condition.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program with a minimum of an associates degree.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience.
- Must possess a valid Florida occupational therapy assistant certification
- Currently licensed and registered in state of Florida
- Certified in Basic Life Support
- Must be fluent in the English language
- Valid Florida drivers license, safe driving record and reliable transportation
