Are you an experienced leader who thrives in public service and has a deep commitment to sustainability? Our client is looking for a dynamic individual to lead their Environmental Services Department.
This role provides a unique opportunity to oversee essential services such as waste management, water conservation, and pollution control, all while making a significant impact on the well-being of a vibrant, forward-thinking community.
Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to) :
- Oversee operations of waste collection, recycling programs, and water quality management.
- Lead strategic planning efforts to align environmental goals with community growth and sustainability.
- Manage a large budget and direct financial resources towards key environmental initiatives.
- Collaborate with local and regional partners to address environmental challenges and improve service delivery.
- Drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including programs focused on reducing pollution and advancing sustainable practices.
- Engage with community stakeholders to ensure the alignment of environmental services with public needs.
Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role :
- Leadership experience in environmental services or related fields.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Experience managing projects and budgets.
- Ability to create and implement environmental strategies.
- Strong commitment to public service and community impact.
- Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and Powerpoint for reporting / presentations via teams or in person.
