Substitute Teacher's Aide
Position Overview :
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is in need for Substitute Teacher's Aides for our special education and early intervention classrooms for the 2024-2025 school year.
These classrooms are scattered all around Erie, Warren, and Crawford Counties. The IU5 classrooms consist of special needs classrooms in the areas of Autistic Support, Life Skills, Emotional / Behavioral Support, Deaf & Hard of Hearing, Visually Impaired and Multiple Disabilities.
Our students range in ages from our Early Intervention classrooms (which is our 3-5-year-olds with developmental delays) through school aged students (which can go up to about 21 years of age).
Typically, our classrooms are staffed with a teacher and 2 aides.
We have 17 classrooms total that require aides.
- 13 Classrooms in Erie County.
- 2 Classrooms in Warren County.
- 2 Classrooms in Crawford County.
Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent
Pay - Hourly Rate
Early Intervention : $12
School-Aged and Institutions : $12 - $15
The hourly rate is based on individual district substitute rates.
Successful applicants will be required to submit acceptable PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal History Clearance and Federal History Clearance as well as complete forms Act 168 for current employer and any previous employer where the applicant worked directly with children.
Additionally, successful completion of a physical, negative TB, and lift test will be required.
