Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health for our patients.
This position requires a compassionate individual who is committed to educating patients about their oral hygiene and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and performing oral examinations.
- Provide preventive dental care, including cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays to assist in diagnosing dental conditions.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of maintaining good dental health.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient treatments and assessments.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor vital signs as needed during patient visits to ensure safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, especially for pediatric patients.
Qualifications
- Valid dental hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and dental procedures.
- Experience with medical coding and familiarity with medical records management is preferred.
- Proficiency in taking medical imaging and understanding its application in patient assessment.
- Previous experience in dental assisting is a plus, particularly in a pediatric setting.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism.
