Are you outgoing with a cheerful personality? Looking for a fun gig doing something you love with a locally-owned small business?

If you’re looking for some extra money over the month of December, let’s talk! We are looking for you to join our team of Cookie Guides at The Messy Cookie!

As a Cookie Guide you don’t need any cookie decorating or baking experience! Customer service experience, performing and / or experience instructing others is helpful, but not required.

You’re confident in social situations, comfortable rolling with the punches if something unexpected occurs, and enjoy entertaining.

Maybe you have a background in teaching or theater, or have always envisioned yourself on tv! Whatever your dream, spending time engaging others is likely involved in it.

And you love being part of a team.

We’re gearing up for a holiday season to be filled with both in-person and virtual Cookie Ice Night® parties, and we need people like you to run the show! October through November will be very part-time training in our Cookie Guide Academy learning the ropes, both from home via Zoom and occasionally on-site.

Our studio is in the brand new Portland-based space, The Photo Kitchen. Once the December holiday season kicks off, we’ll be hosting virtual and in-person events at The Photo Kitchen, so ability to travel to our studio is a must.

Our events are like the paint night you can eat and are primarily held as team building events. The party is 1 hour long, while with setup and cleanup it may last up to 2 hours.

It’s a professional but fun casual atmosphere where the most important thing isn’t the cookies that people decorate; it’s the awesome time they have with each other, and with you! And of course, the lasting impression we leave as a company.

We’re looking for a select few candidates to bring onto the team for gig-style employment through the holiday season, hopefully to continue through to the following year.

Availability will be at least 3 events per week, M-F, morning shifts, afternoon shifts, and evening shifts, Nov. 28 through Dec.

21. No weekends required!

Our Mission : To deliver the most contagiously joyful experience for every customer through stellar service, cookies, and an environment of creativity and fun.

Pay : $16.50+ per hour and $170+ per event. Employee will be paid the per event rate when they are the Lead Guide on an event, and paid the hourly rate for any work outside of guiding events or when assisting other guides on an event.

Mileage will be compensated for any off-site travel of 62.5 cents per mile. Please note the Compensation Range listing of $170-225 / day on this job posting is per event guided.

That is assuming one event per day.

Excellent communication skills.

Must have a passion sharing joy and making others smile.

Must have reliable access to transportation.

Must have proficient computer skills.

Must have a laptop, basic webcam and access to internet at home.
