A Day in the Life

Provide legal advice and transactional support within the Global Operations & Supply Chain (GOSC) Legal Organization to a broad range of Medtronic business clients that are seeking to acquire goods and services from suppliers.

Coordinate the delivery of these transactional legal services with cross-functional and subject matter experts within Medtronic.

This position reports to the Sr. Legal Director, GOSC Legal.

This position ideally will reside in Minneapolis, MN or another US Medtronic office location, but could POTENTIALLY be a remote US-based role.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze, draft, and negotiate broad range of agreements including complex product development, supply chain, distribution, and contract manufacturing agreements with third parties.
  • Advise and counsel business clients on a variety of business transactions and operational matters by providing clear, practical, and timely advice on matters such as risk mitigation, relevant laws, and emerging trends.
  • Support dispute resolution with third parties by utilizing negotiation skills, settlements, and legal expertise.
  • Support GOSC related legal aspects of acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on the recommended structure of agreements.
  • Partner with subject matter experts across a global matrixed organization, including coordination with Security, Regulatory, Quality, Federal Contracts and Trade Compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with other lawyers, paralegals and administrative staff to provide the legal support for the areas described above.
  • Collaborate with a team to update template agreements, draft playbooks, and provide training to support a consistent contracting standards and process
  • Participate in other projects as assigned or as needed

MUST HAVES : MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • JD from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Licensed to practice in at least one US state or the District of Columbia.
  • 8+ years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts as a practicing attorney with demonstrated ability and experience with complex commercial transactions

  • Experience negotiating sourcing-supply contracts

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD) : $187,200.00 - $280,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.
