MEDICAL ASSISTANT LEAD POSITION OVERVIEW

The Medical Assistant Lead is responsible for performing routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians, physician assistants and other health practitioners running smoothly.

Providing accurate and complete information to patients so they can fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. The Medical Assistant Lead builds positive and professional relationships with patients of the practice and with other staff of OCC.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT LEAD ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

• Trains new staff on, but not limited to AllScripts, MIPS, etc.
• Assists the Director of Operations Manager with patient advocacy issues focusing on customer service, patient satisfaction / complaints and provider activity
• Obtains excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Collaborate with other leads and teams
• Orders and maintains non-medical and medical supplies as needed
• Keep up-to-date records and site surveys, i.e., Autoclave, AED, O2, etc.
• Supports facility safety initiatives, physical clinic maintenance while maintaining clinic appearance regulatory standards
• Conducts 90-day / Annual reviews
• Be a part of the hiring process, i.e., call resumes, interviews, etc.
• Coordinate externships, MA training, and team meetings
• In charge of scheduling, coverage, and float coverage
• Liaison for clinical issues with outside sources, i.e., OCC Imaging, etc.
• Build up team morale

SALARY & BENEFITS : $ 22-28 Per hour

Requirements :

MEDICAL ASSISTANT LEAD REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :

• Minimum Required Education : High School Diploma or GED
• Requires clinical thinking skills
• Must have 3+ years of Lead experience
• Decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
• Prefer Orthopedics experience
• Prefer Allscripts, Phreesia and Provider Flow experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES, AND REGRISTRATIONS :

• Basic Life Support
• Registered Medical Assistant
• Certified Medical Assistant

WORKING CONDITIONS :

• Frequent standing, typing, moussing, and reading paper and electronic documents
• Ability to file and track documents and data, both in written and electronic form
• Hours of business are Monday Friday from 7 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.
• On occasion, some early, late and overtime hours may be required
