Accounting Specialist Responsibilities :

• Process basic banking entering daily transactions into the General Ledger
• Create daily and periodic ACH batches for loan payments and disbursements.
• Complete bank reconciliations of selected accounts.
• Collaborate with Loan Services department ensuring accurate daily deposits of the loan deposits.
• Manage cash activity to the general ledger and file backup.
• Assist in the preparation of information required by auditors / examiners or others.
• Assist in the preparation of information reporting to the IRS.
• Maintain financial records and books of accounts in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage discrete projects and deliverables to advance the goals of the department.
• Ad hoc financial projects and analysis as needed and assigned by Controller and CFO.
• Backup for Accounts Payable functions

To succeed in this role, you will have :

• Understanding of accounting processes, nonprofit accounting a plus
• Strong prioritization, organization, and time management skills to excel in a semi-autonomous, fast-paced environment.
• Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and handle electronic communications with precision and detail.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by building relationships with internal and external partners and effectively communicating issues through phone, in-person, and email interactions.
• Adapt to changing procedures collaborate successfully with colleagues in both local and satellite offices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Accounting Software, Adobe Professional, shared file systems, CRM systems, and Business Central Dynamics (preferred).
