To our prospective team members,
I am the hospitalist medical director at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and have been with Sound Physicians since 2019.
We are in the process of expanding our physician and advanced practice provider team. We welcome new graduates as well as seasoned clinicians.
I want to provide insight into who we are and what we do specifically about our people, practice, and purpose as you consider your options :
People
- You will find a team of ten physicians and eight advanced practice providers within our hospital.
- We are a unique group of clinicians with diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds.
- We work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure a seamless transition of care.
- We are looking for a daytime and a nocturnal APP.
Practice
- The hospital has a closed ICU, and our hospitalist team is not responsible for procedures.
- Our hospitalist team is part of the rapid response team, and we attend codes as a courtesy run by the ICU team.
- Our electronic medical records (EMR) are streamlined through Cerner, and we also have access to our internal informatics platform.
- Our APP compensation is based on experience. We offer a robust training program for incoming APPs who have not worked in a hospitalist environment.
Additionally, we provide quality and productivity incentives in addition to the base salary offered.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
- Patient care is always our top priority.
- We value and support growth and development within our hospital medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
- We’re a community-minded team, deeply committed to supporting community health and wellness within and outside the hospital.
Our collective efforts make a meaningful impact in our community.
