Principal Accountabilities :
- Scheduling and Coordination :
- Maintain and manage scheduling for specialized procedures.
- Coordinate services with physicians' offices and related departments.
- Verify room and equipment availability as needed.
- Communication and Patient Interaction :
- Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families / support groups, and healthcare providers.
- Communicate effectively to ensure smooth process flow.
- Regulatory Compliance :
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure privacy and safety in patient care.
- Additional Responsibilities :
- Perform specific tasks as assigned.
- Orient new staff to the department.
Job Accountabilities :
- Clerical :
- Perform general clerical tasks, including answering phones and greeting customers and patients.
- Prepare and complete job-related documentation.
- Collect, update, and maintain patient service schedules.
- Safety :
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe working environment.
- Organize files and keep desks free of clutter.
- Compliance :
- Perform duties in compliance with department standards and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient protected health information (PHI).
Education and Experience :
- Education :
- High School Diploma or equivalent education / experience.
- Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a required degree or diploma.
- Experience :
- 1 year of recent relevant experience.
Skills and Knowledge :
- Knowledge of medical terminology and various diagnostic tests, surgeries, consultations, and procedures.
- Ability to interpret data and instructions from various formats.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems.
- Ensure the privacy of patient PHI.
- Build collaborative relationships with peers and staff members.
