Job Description

Position Summary : The Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions to help patients achieve independence and enhance their quality of life.

This role involves working with individuals of all ages and abilities to address barriers to daily living activities and promote optimal function and participation in meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional abilities, including physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional aspects.

Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to individual goals and needs.

Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve patients' performance in activities of daily living (ADLs), including self-care, mobility, and household tasks.

Provide adaptive equipment recommendations and environmental modifications to support patients' independence and safety in home, work, and community settings.

Facilitate therapeutic activities and exercises to improve motor skills, coordination, balance, and sensory processing. Incorporate cognitive rehabilitation strategies to address deficits in attention, memory, problem-solving, and executive functioning.

Educate patients, caregivers, and community resources on adaptive techniques, compensatory strategies, and injury prevention strategies.

Monitor and document patients' progress, outcomes, and treatment effectiveness in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Stay informed about advances in occupational therapy research, best practices, and technology, and integrate new knowledge into clinical practice.

Adhere to ethical and professional standards outlined by state licensure boards and professional organizations, such as the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

Qualifications

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

CPR certification. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and community partners. Empathy, patience, and a client-centered approach to care.

Prior experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting preferred, but not required.
