The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Protect Portfolio Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210-14, located at AF Chief Information Security Office, Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
This position can close at any time. Apply Now!In the position, you will provide technical expertise to operational users, solution providers, acquisition teams, and Air Staff functional to ensure proper integration of enterprise IT and cyberspace capabilities into the Air Force.
Interfaces with other Air Staff offices, Joint and Interagency partners, and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) activities to inform AF integration efforts and shape community-wide policy and concept development.
Coordinates MAJCOM and FOA engagement with the Office of Chief Information Officer (SAF / CN) to ensure common understanding of strategic goals and objectives.
Collaborates with solution providers and commercial partners to refine AF requirements and provide operational insights for solution development.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance
- A non-disclosure agreement must be signed
- This position is designated by the Air Force as a testing designated position under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program and is subject to random drug testing
- Mastery knowledge of computer and communications network architectures, computer science or computer systems engineering technologies, scientific software methodologies and practices especially of cyber security techniques and technologies.
- Knowledge of a wide range of Air Force and DoD doctrine, policy directives, strategies, procedures, public law and other guidance applicable to managing data center consolidation.
- Mastery knowledge of principles and techniques for information systems analysis, design, development, test and installation, sufficient to ensure that Air Force information systems doctrine, polices, strategies, procedures and techniques foster the consistent application of sound systems management disciplines and techniques.
- Comprehensive ability to recognize problems and trends, gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and package the entire process into briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.
- Skill and ability to speak and write effectively on highly complex technical and possibly sens1t1ve issues including preparing statements for senior military, government, and private sector management officials.
Ability to give briefings, chair meetings, lead task forces, and prepare reports at the General Officer I Senior Executive Service (SES) level.
