The Opportunity at AltanaAs the Director of Communications at Altana, you will play a critical role in shaping our brand narrative, raising awareness, and enhancing and protecting our reputation in the market.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing an integrated external and internal communications strategy that aligns with our overall business objectives, and helps us to advance our category and product vision, go to market efforts, and internal alignment.

This is a rare opportunity to join a world-class team and make a meaningful impact in an exciting industry.Your ResponsibilitiesWorking with the executive team, develop, refine, and continuously iterate on our overarching communications plan in support of our business goals, including strategy, message, and positioningIndependently develop tactics and lead execution of key programs and campaigns to deliver on communications plans, leveraging internal resources and agencies as appropriateGenerate broad market awareness of and interest in Altana’s platform and software in our core geographic and industry markets;

communicate Altana’s unique value proposition to elected officials, policymakers, journalists, and other influencers, and directly to the public, across all surfaces, including social mediaSupport broader media relations efforts, including thought leadership, industry positioning, and user educationPartner with our executive and People teams to develop and manage our internal communications strategy to ensure that our employees are informed, engaged, and alignedMonitor and report on the effectiveness of our communication strategies and make recommendations for improvementsYou Have10+ years of experience in a communications, public relations or marketing role5+ years of experience in managerial or leadership experience in the same functionTeamwork and the ability to lead and motivate a team to produce high-level, brand-driven contentExtensive knowledge of and expertise in marketing and public relations campaignsAnalytical skills to solve problems and find the best way to convey a messageThe creativity to produce exciting and interesting contentOrganizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working on a deadline or in a fast-paced environmentThe technological ability to work on a variety of digital platforms and also create web and mobile contentThis role is based in New York City or Washington, DC and candidates must be within commuting distance from our New York or Washington offices.
